Japan’s two rival events, the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) and the Anime Contents Expo (ACE) has announced their merger to form the ‘largest’ anime fair in the country.
According to official website, the new event will be called ‘AnimeJapan’ and it aims for the expansion and advancement of Japanese animation industry and related industries.
AnimeJapan is organized by the AnimeJapan Executive Committee supported by the Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) and 11 comic publishers. The event is also sponsored by 19 companies coming from the anime production industry and video distributors.
The Tokyo City government, one of the organizers of TAF, will no longer take part in the new event.
The two-day event will start next year on March 22-23, 2014 at Tokyo Big Sight East Exhibition Hall, East Hall 1 – 6. TAF, previously set March 19-22 and ACE will no longer be held next year.
