Ghost Hunt – Light Novel Gets Live-Action Film


Twins Japan and Kadokawa Shoten has announced that they are producing a live-action film adaptation for Fuyumi Ono’s supernatural horror light novel series Ghost Hunt.

The movie will be released in summer 2014. The original light novel series debut in 1989 and it was originally called the “Akuryou Series.. It has an ongoing manga series by Shiho Inada started in 1998 and TV anime series aired in 2006.

Telling ghost stories is a favorite past time of Mai Taniyama and her friends—that is, until she meets 17-year-old Kazuya Shibuya, the man sent by Shibuya Psychic Research Center to investigate paranormal activity at a supposedly haunted school. When Mai gets caught in a dangerous situation, she is rescued by Kazuya’s assistant. Saving her lands the assistant incapacitated, and Kazuya demands that Mai become his assistant, instead…

  1. I watched the series and liked it. I also read an article that it flopped in Japan but it had good comments / rating outside. Too bad the series was discontinued — Will be watching this 😀
