Lupin III Live-Action Movie to Premiere Next Year, To Have Scenes in the Philippines


It was finally announced that live-action movie adaptation of Monkey Punch’s adventure comedy manga/anime series Lupin III is set to release summer of 2014.

Additional cast members were also announced including earlier reported Taiwanese actor/singer Jerry Yan and Hana Yori Dango star Shun Oguri.

Jpop Asia reported last week that Oguri will be portraying the titular role Arsene Lupin III while Yan will be portraying Lupin’s rival in the movie.

Arashi’s Sho Sakurai and actor Satoshi Tsumabuki who were reported by Tokyo Sports newspaper last June to play Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa, respectively, were replaced.

The movie began filming last October 3, 2013 and expected to finish  late next month. There will be scenes from various locations in Asia such as Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore & Philippines.

    Will the media let us know beforehand when and where exactly in the Philippines will they shoot?
