Animax Asia will be opening the new year with the premiere of its 8th ‘simulcast’ anime, Bones’ sci-fi comedy anime series Space Dandy.
The Vice President for Asian Content, Network, Asia, Sony Pictures Television Virginia Lim said, “The wonderful opportunity to enjoy Space Dandy with Japan’s audiences is Animax Asia’s gift to our viewers for a great start to 2014.” She also looks forward to offering more top notch anime programs and delivering the best entertainment experiences on- and off-screen in the new year.
The series features the dandiest alien hunter Dandy voiced by Junichi Suwabe. He travels across galaxies in search of aliens that no one has ever laid eyes on.
Backing him up in his adventures are vacuum cleaner robot QT and dim-witted cat-like alien, Meow, voiced by 9nine member Uki Satake and Hiroyuki Yoshino, respectively.
Space Dandy is led by Cowboy Bebop’s Shinichiro Watanabe, directed by Shingo Natsume with screenplay by Wolf Rain’s Keiko Nobumoto, Cowboy Bebop’s Dai Sato and Crayon Shin Chan’s Kimiko Ueno. Yasuyuki Okamura will be performing the series’ upbeat disco-like opening theme song ‘Viva Namida’.
Space Dandy will premiere on January 5, airing every Sundays at 10pm (PHT) same-time-as-Japan. Animax is available on Skycable Ch 46 and Cignal TV Ch 34.
