‘The Wind Rises’ Scores Nomination in the 86th Oscars

Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s animated film ‘The Wind Rises’ receives a nomination in this year’s 86th Academy Awards or commonly known as the Oscars.

The film has been nominated for Best Animated Feature along with other animated films; The Croods, Despicable Me 2, Ernest and Celestine, and Frozen.

The film also gave Miyazaki his third Oscar nomination for the said category. His 2001 animated film Spirited Away won the Academy Awards in 2003 .

The list of nominees were presented by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs and actor Chris Hemsworth last January 16 in Beverly Hills, USA. The announcement of winners will take place on March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
