Since we were busy with our coverage on the 13th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention, we were not able to give you some anime news updates last weekend.

Thus, we have collected some anime and manga news released last weekend and compiled into this anime news round-up article.



  • Slice of life-mystery manga series Gakkou Gurashi! Norimitsu by Kaihou’s (author) and Sadoru Chiba’s (illustrator)
    • The story of the manga revolves around four girls who decide to stay over at school: the energetic Yuki Takeya, the shovel-loving Rumi, the center of the group Rurii, who brings everyone together, and Megu, the spacey school adviser. However, through mysterious circumstances, the girls find themselves the final survivors in a zombie attack, and continue to live at the school. (ANN)


  • Action-comedy manga series Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) by Yuusei Matsui. Live-action film was also announced.
    • The students of class 3-E have a mission: kill their teacher before graduation. He has already destroyed the moon, and has promised to destroy the Earth if he can not be killed within a year. But how can this class of misfits kill a tentacled monster, capable of reaching Mach 20 speed, who may be the best teacher any of them have ever had? (MAL)

06252014_Mobile Suit Gundam-san

  • Four-panel-comedy manga series Kidou Senshi Gundam-san (Mobile Suit Gundam-san) by Hideki Oowada (author and illustrator), Hajime Yatate (author), and Yoshiyuki Tomino’s (author). Series will be 5 minutes per episode.
  • Social romance simulation game Girlfriend (Kari) (Girl Friend BETA). Manga also green-lit.


  • Blade of the Immortal’s Hiroaki Samura will launch a romance manga series titled Nami yo Kiite Kure (Waves, Listen to Me) next month.
  • Vampire Knight’ Matsuri Hino is starting new manga series titled Shuriken to Pleats (Throwing Star & Pleats) in the next issue.
