Manga Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo gets TV Anime adaptation in Spring 2015

It was announced that Miki Yoshikawa’s Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo comedy manga is getting an anime adaptation next spring.

The series will have the same cast members from the upcoming ONA (Original Net Animation), to be released with the 15th and 17th manga volumes starting this December.

Ryu Yamada is a second year student at Suzaku High. Ryu is always late for school, naps in class and gets abysmal grades. His life is a dead bore. The beautiful Urara Shiraishi, on the other hand, is Suzaku High’s brightest student. One day, without explanation, their bodies are swapped! Ryu ends up in Urara’s body, and Urara in Ryu’s.

Kyoukai No Kanata is getting two movie adaptations in Spring 2015

According to the official website, it was announced that Japanese light novel Kyoukai no Kanata is getting two movie adaptations in Spring 2015.

Kako-hen (Past arc), the recap movie from the television series, will premiere on March 14, 2015 while Mirai-hen (Future arc) will premiere on April 25, 2015. Mirai-hen is a movie sequel taking place one year after the TV series.

The first “Hanabi” Festival in Phlippines

Fireworks or  “Hanabi” festival is a signature event held in Japan during the summer holidays from July to August. These festivals were originally used to ward off evil spirits, but today, these are used for outdoor entertainment attracting thousands of locals in Japan.

Anime Gaming Cultural Festival Events and Conventions, in cooperation with the Municipal Government of Taytay, Anime Corner Group Pilipinas and United Anime Council presents the first “Hanabi” Festival in the country to be held on November 29 at Club Manila East Open field in Taytay, Rizal.

Just like in a Japanese “Hanabi” festival, the event will have food stalls and matsuri booths which sells souvenirs and houses traditional matsuri games. It will also feature performances from various local cover bands and dance groups.

The big firework display, the event’s main highlight will take place during the end of the festival.

“Hanabi” Festival promises to give the attendees the traditional festive being experienced in a real Japanese festival and adding that, attendees are  encouraged to wear any Japanese traditional clothes, not limited to yukata, kimono, hakama and jinbei. You can also attend the event in your favorite costume.

Otakuzine relaunches its anime magazine

After releasing only two magazine issues this year, local anime magazine Otakuzine is making a comeback with a launch event which will be held on November 30 at Function Rm 1, SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The launch event is in celebration of the tie up once again with PSICOM Publishing and Otakuzine after some “misunderstanding” in past. PSICOM Publishing will be in-charge with the publishing and distributing the copies of local anime magazine nationwide.

The event will also feature competitions such as cosplay, karaoke and anime art contest. There is also an Anime Card Game Card Tournament and free demostration of Denki Bunko Fighting Climax.

Otakuzine Anime Magazine has also invited Taiwanese cosplayer Misa for a meet and greet session at the event. Misa was invited to the Otakuzine’s Ozine Fest this year, but she was not able to come due to some passport issues.


Admission fee is worth Php100.

#GoldenTicketAwards 2014 to be held this December

Various websites gathered around to organize an annual awards event dedicated to various geek events in the Philippines’ capital region.

Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, November 16, 2014 – A group of pop-culture websites have gathered together to organize an annual awarding event dedicated to various geek events held in the country’s national capital region (NCR).

The Golden Ticket Awards 2014 will give credit to the various geek events for providing the best event experience for their communities. Up to eight categories are in store for the committee to select based on their performance and its organizer’s fulfilled expectations to its target fan base.

The committee has added that these events are getting bigger and bigger, which means that they have to upgrade their events content as expectations become higher; thus, the Awards is the committee’s unsolicited advice to various events organizers across the country. A “People’s Choice Award” will be include for the audience to participate in the selection of this year’s best geek events.

The Golden Ticket Awards committee is expected to release the full details on its voting process and how the audience can participate by the end of November. The results are expected to be released by the last weekend of December this year.
