“Gabriel Dropout,” “BanG Dream” to air on ANIMAX same day as Japan

ANIMAX Asia has announced on their official website that anime television network will air Gabriel Dropout and Bang Dream this January same day as Japan.

Gabriel Dropout premieres on January 9th, airing every Monday at 11PM.

An angel at the top of an angel school has descended to the human world! However, she has been acclimating herself to the life of the human world so much that she ends up leading a self-indulgent life, skipping school all the time and being absorbed in online games. Gabriel soon forgets about her original goal to make human beings happy and has turned into a lazy and hopeless angel, or a “sloppy angel” in short. Amazingly, she swears to continue to fully enjoy the pleasure of various entertainments of the human world.

 

BanG Dream premieres on January 22nd, airing every Sunday at 8:30PM.

Just like the sparkling sound “Star Beat” that she heard while looking up at the starry skies when she was young, Kasumi Toyama has been searching for something that would excite and make her heart go pit-a-pat.

After getting into high school, Kasumi comes across a star-shaped guitar in an old pawnshop. It is this fateful meeting that evokes the emotions that have been locked up within Kasumi.

Teaming up with four other girls who, like Kasumi, dream of a place that can make them shine, the five of them work towards realising their musical dream.

“ACCA: 13″,”Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid” and “Trickster” to air on ANIPLUS right after Japan

ANIPLUS Asia has announced on their official Facebook page that Southeast Asian anime channel will air ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. and Trickster one hour after its broadcast in Japan.

ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. will premiere on January 10th, airing every Tuesday at 11PM

The kingdom of Dowa, which is subdivided into 13 states, is celebrating its monarch’s 99th birthday. These 13 states have many agencies that are controlled by the giant organization known as ACCA. Within ACCA, Jean Otus is the second-in-command of the inspection agency. His agency has ten people placed in each of the 13 states, with a central office in the capital city. They keep track of all the activities of ACCA across the kingdom, and keep data on each state’s ACCA office flowing toward the central office. Jean also often has business trips from the capital to the other districts to check on the situation and personnel there.

Meanwhile, TRICKSTER will premieres on January 2nd, with the following airing schedule:

Boys’ Detective Team member Kensuke Hanasaki meets a mysterious boy named Yoshio Kobayashi, who has an undying body because of an “unidentified fog”. Their encounter leads them to the criminal nicknamed the “Fiend with Twenty Faces”.

ANIPLUS Asia on their press release has announced that they will be airing Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid on January 11th, airing every Wednesday at 12 midnight, one hour after its broadcast in Japan.

“Re:Zero” and “Handa-kun” to air on ANIMAX this January 2017

ANIMAX Asia has announced last Monday on their official Facebook page that they will be airing Re:Zero ~Starting Life in Another World~ and Handa-kun next month.

Re:Zero ~Starting Life in Another World~ will air every Thursday and Friday starting on January 13 at 10PM (9PM JKT/BKK).

Subaru Natsuki is an ordinary high school student who is lost in an alternate world, where he is rescued by a beautiful, silver-haired girl. “Fate/Grand Order” special to air on ANIPLUS this New Year

ANIPLUS Asia announced last Sunday that the Southeast Asian channel will air “Fate/Grand Order: First Order” on New Year’s day as part of channel’s Holiday Special.

The special will air on January 1 at 11:00 PM (PST) (10:00 PM JKT/BKK), one day after it premiered in Japan.

According to ANIPLUS Asia, the synopsis are as follows:

“The story is set in 2015 AD, in the final era when magecraft thrived. The Chaldea Security Organization was formed as a special agency tasked with monitoring a world that can’t be seen or fathomed with magic or science alone and preventing the ultimate downfall of mankind.

But, all of a sudden, the future Chaldea has been monitoring disappears, and it comes to light that mankind will go extinct in 2017.

Chaldea assumes a singularity to be the cause of human extinction and starts a mission to investigate and unravel it, or, failing that, to destroy it.”

Fate/Grand Order is a free-to-play role-playing game based on the Fate/Stay night visual novel. A full-length TV special of the game was announced last November 2016 and it will be produced by Lay-duce studio. Gosick director Hitoshi Namba will direct the special.

TV5 announces return of “AniMEGA” in 2017

TV5 has announced last Tuesday on their official social accounts that local television network is set to bring back the popular anime block TV5 AniMEGA next year.

The announcement teases anime titles: Kantai Collection, Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 2000%, Myriad Colors Phantom World, Knights of Sidonia and Attack on Titan: Junior High to be shown on the block. Airing dates have not yet announced.

Aside from AniMEGA, TV5 will also show several American drama series, reality TV shows, cartoons and original shows as part of the network’s #GameTayoSa2017 campaign.

TV5 AniMEGA block was last revived in 2015.

“Sword Art Online The Movie” gets Philippine release next year

Upcoming Japanese anime film “Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale” is getting a Southeast Asian release next year according to Odex Private Limited on their official Facebook page.

The film will be shown in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei and The Philippines on February 18, 2017, same as Japan.

The film is also confirmed to run in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and in United Kingdom.

Based on the light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec, the film will feature an original story by Kawaharaw and it will take place after the Mother’s Rosario arc. The voice cast from the anime series will reprise their roles in the film.

*Erratum on movie’s release date which is February 18, 2017, same release date as Japan.

“Kimi No Nawa” to finally release in PH

Japanese hit anime film “Kimi No Nawa.” (Your Name) will  finally be released in Philippine cinemas this week. The movie will be shown starting December 14 according the SM Cinema website.

Pioneer Films has also confirmed the release date. It was also announced that the list of cinemas which will be showing the movie will be released on December 13 .

It was previously announced that movie’s release date is still pending due booking issues related to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Kimi No Nawa.” (your name.) is the latest Japanese animated film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai. Released last August 26 in Japan, it has earned USD 175.8 million at the box office, surpassing Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle and it is now the second highest-grossing anime film in Japan.

HERO TV announces new anime-lineup for 2017

During the “60 Years of Philippines-Japan Friendship Celebration” event held last Sunday at Market Market Mall in Taguig, Filipino cable channel HERO TV has revealed its new program line up for next year.

Titles include “Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn”, “Nobunagun”, “Dragon Crisis”, “Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation”,  “Ultimate Otaku Teacher”, “The Heroic Legend of Arslan”, “Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu”, “Love Live! Sunshine!!”, “Orange”, “Fate/Kaleid Liner: Prisma Illya 3rei”, “91 Days” and the return of “Samurai X”.

For anime films, HERO TV adds “Initial D: The Movie” & “Love Live! The School Idol Movie”.

MNL48’s First Generation Audition announced

During the first fan Meeting held last December 3 at Movie Stars Cafe  in Pasay City, the start of MNL48’s First Generation audition was announced.

According to the press release, the MNL48 audition method takes after the style of AKB48’s General Elections, where members are chosen through nationwide voting.

Applicants must be at least 15-20 years old, single and a resident of the Philippines. They can apply through the official MNL48 mobile application, where their profiles will be made visible to the public.

Through the auditions, 64 finalist will be selected. The first phase of MNL48 will be decides and the first-generation member will promote for one year. The General Elections will be held every year, and the voting will happen between the existing members and newly selected finalists. The top 64 girls who will be selected through the General Election will be active for one year.

Aside from the auditions,  the official MNL48 website was also opened.

MNL48 is an all-female group in the Philippines and the newest sister group of the Japanese girl band and pop music phenomenon known worldwide as AKB48.

Cardcaptor Sakura anime sequel confirmed

Yesterday, the official Twitter account for  “Cardcaptor Sakura” has confirmed a new television anime for Clamp’s 1998 magical girl anime series. The sequel is titled “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc” and it will broadcast on NHK starting January 2018.

Sakura Tange will once again voice the titular magical girl Sakura Kinomoto while Aya Hisakawa returns as Keroberos. Junko Iwao, Motoko Kumai, Megumi Ogata and Megumi Ogata are also returning to reprise their respective roles in the new anime.
