Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka – Anime Adaptation Announced

It was announced that Suzuhito Yasuda and Oomori Fujino’s fantasy adventure light novel series Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) is getting an anime adaptation.

The anime adaptation is among the first projects being planned in GA Bunko’s 10th year anniversary. The light novel series was first published in 2014 and has won the grand prize in the fourth GA Bunko Awards.

SYNOPSIS

Macross – New Anime Project Announced

The official website has revealed that a new TV project for the Macross franchise is in production.

The project is tentatively titled  Macross Delta (Delta written as Δ) and  audition for the series’ new singing voice to provide the will start on December 1. More information about the audition will be unveiled in November.

Macross Frontier was the last anime series in the Macross franchise which aired in 2007.

K- Project – Anime Sequel Announced for 2015

The official twitter account for K-Project anime series has announced that the sequel anime to the movie K Missing Kings is scheduled to air next year.

The announcement was also made at the K -In this place again- anime event held last October 18 . The Blu-ray and DVD release for K Missing Kings movie was also announced to release in April 2015.

SYNOPSIS
Set in a world where history has taken a slightly different course from the one we’re familiar with, K follows the story of a young boy whose life is caught in a psychic war between seven kings.

Ashinaka High School is known for its unique setting: the entire campus is built on an island. Yashiro Isana, aka Shiro, is having lunch with a cat on one of the school rooftops. After his lunch break, Shiro goes on an errand for his classmate Kukuri to prepare for their upcoming school festival, only to be chased by some intimidating-looking men.

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai – Light Novel Gets Anime Adaptation

Publishing company Shougakukan has announced that Hirotaka Akagi’s school comedy light novel series Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikursu na Sekai (A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist) is getting an anime adaptation.

More details will be revealed soon.

Series launched in 2012.

SYNOPSIS
In a world which forbids inappropriate language, Tanukichi Okuma attends the country’s strictest school and gets invited to join SOX, a committee to fight against the world’s strict morals. Oregairu – Second Season to Premiere Spring 2015

Publishing company Shougakukan has revealed that the second season anime series Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru will premiere in Spring 2015.

The new series will be titled Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku. under its new Director Kei Oikawa (Outbreak Company, Minami-ke: Okaeri). Yuichi Tanaka will also replace Yuu Shindou as the series’ anime character designer while anime production will move from Brain Base to Studio Feel (Da Capo, Kiss x Sis.)

The cast members from the first season will still reprise their roles in the second season.

SYNOPSIS
Hikigaya Hachiman is a high school boy with twisted character. He prefers to go against the trend and refuses to make friends with anybody. In order to get Hachiman back the right track, his school teacher Hiratsuka Shizuka forces him to enter ‘Public Service Club’. There he meets other problematic students.

Lupin III – New Series Announced for Spring 2015

During the MIPCOM event in Cannes, France, the production has announced that a new Lupin III anime TV series is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2015.

The new series will take place in Italy and San Marino. Lupin III will be again taking the protagonist role after 30 years. The last series was Lupin III: Part III.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge – Manga to End Soon

According to November issue of Bessatsu Friend magazine, it is announcing that Tomoko Hayaka’s shoujo manga seriesYamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge (The Wallflower) will be ending in three more chapters.

The series will end on January 13, 2015 if it continues without break.

The manga debuted in 2000 and has inspired an anime series in 2007 and a live-action TV series in 2010.

Hatsune Miku’s First U.S. TV Appearance

Last October 8, virtual pop star Hatsune Miku made her first U.S. TV appearance at CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman.

Miku performed the song “Sharing the World” from Vocaloid producer ELEKI.

Her appearance is part of the promotion of the upcoming Hatsune Miku Expo which will be held on October 11-12 in Los Angeles and on October 17-18 in New York.

Tamashii Convention 2015 Announced

De La Salle University’s Japanese Studies organization, Nihon Kenkyuu Kai has announced that its next year’s Japanese culture convention, Tamashii Convention is now undergoing planning.

Tamashii Convention 2015 or TamaCon for short is set on March 28, 2015 at Function Room 1 and Meeting Room 2 and 3 in SMX Manila.

With the theme “Igniting the Japanese,” TamaCon will be bringing the focus on the expression of the spirit of Japan. The event is also planning on setting the ambiance of a Japanese Summer Cultural Festival – trying to bring out the spirit of how festivals are being done in Japan with a slight mix of Japan’s ever popular pop culture. There will be also a cafe wherein guests will be able to experience the aesthetics of being in a cultural Japanese setting.

Nihon Kenkyuu Kai is an organization in De La Salle University for Japanese Studies students, and the students who are interested in Japan and its rich culture.

Nihon Kenkyuu Kai has hosted several Japanese Culture–themed conventions since 2011 and this will be the third Tamashii Convention.

Cosplay Mania JAM Concert – A Recap

After the Cosplay Mania ’14 main activities, Cosplay.ph kicked off its first ever anisong concert, the Japanese Anime Music (J.A.M) concert at the night of October 4-5 in the Main Stage, Function Room 5 of SMX Manila.

The two-day concert featured its headliner anisong artists Loverin∞Tamburin band led by its vocalists Aya and Precure artist Aya Ikeda.

Local Jrock cover band Moonspeak led by their main vocalist Adz Sison opened the first day of the JAM concert with songs from the following anime series Haikyuu! (Imagination), Eureka 7 (Days), Zetsuen no Tempest (Spirit Inspiration), and Slamdunk (Sekai Ga Owaru Made wa)

Aside from anime theme songs, Moonspeak also performed the theme song of the first live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie, The Beginning, by One Ok Rock.

Famous Japanese cosplayer KANAME☆ and Reika surprised the crowd as they jammed along with Moonspeak in the tune of Preserved Roses from Valvrave the Liberator and Days from Eureka Seven.

Ending the first day of the anisong concert is the live performance of Loverin∞Tamburin.

Loverin∞Tamburin is known for their anisongs Aishitageru from Makai Senki Disgaea and mo.o! from Nanatsuiro★Drops.

The band is consists of their main vocalist and also songwriter AYA,  pianist and arranger AKIHIRO; and the support musicians, ex A-JARI member Fujio Ryo, ex SUPER TRAPP member Takumi Matsuda aka Fire and; ex Judy and Mary member and drummer Kohta Igarashi.

They also opened the second night of the JAM concert playing their new songs and some cover songs from Dragon Ball Z, etc. Their concert in Manila is part of their World Tour and this is their 12th performance outside Japan.

According to Team Deremoe, their performance is also part of the “arraignments” for the upcoming Haneda International Anime Music Festival which will take place on March 28-29.

Another highlight of the Cosplay Mania JAM is the live performance of ya Ikeda at the concert stage. The audience particularly Precure fans danced to the beat of their favorite Precure theme songs, “Alright! Heartcatch Precure!” from Heartcatch Precure, “Let’s go! Smile Precure!” from Smile Precure, Wonderful Powerful Music!! and #Kibou Rainbow# both from Suite Pretty Cure.

Aside from Precure songs, she also performed the theme song of Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo: Kuromajutsu Satsujin Jiken-hen series, Road. She also played some of her new songs.

After her great performance, her fans went to the side of the stage for a short hand shake session with anisong artist.

The night end with the performance of another local anisong band Ninja Tuna.
